Give the meaning of term mechanical hazards?
 
Mechanical hazards are the One which Caused by Contacting with the Dangerous parts (Rotating, reciprocating or moving parts of the machine). Example: Entanglement, Drawing -In. 
 
Identify the types of mechanical hazards?
  • Entanglement 
  • Drawing – in 
  • Crushing 
  • Puncturing
Outline the Types of Mechanical hazards?
  • Entanglement
               Contacting in dangerous parts and pulling in side the machinery due to the use of loose cloths or long sleeves 
  • Drawing In 
            Caught in between the two rotating parts of the machinery especially in the In-running nip Points . 
  • Cutting 
            Injury that sustained by contacting with sharp material of the machinery Ex: Injury sustained by contacting with the Wood cutter 
  • Crushing:
               Crush between two moving parts or one moving part and another static part.

An entanglement hazard would be associated with the rotating spindle that the abrasive wheel is mounted on. Drawing in and trapping is associated with the gap between the tool rest and the rotating abrasive wheel. Friction or abrasion hazards would be associated with the surface of the rotating abrasive wheel and stabbing or puncture hazards could be created by flying fragments or pieces of ejected broken wheel.
